About Japanese II:
This course builds on the study of basic vocabulary and grammatical structures from Japanese I. Students will become proficient in the use of Hiragana and Katakana, and add 50-100 kanji to their repertoire. Students will use language to exchange information about topics relating to school, life in the city, nature & art, and folktales. They will read and listen to familiar material, write short, directed compositions, and give presentations on familiar topics. Throughout the course, students continue to learn about how Japanese culture is integrated into daily life. By the end of this year, students should have between a Novice-Mid to Novice-High capability in Japanese. |
