- Service 2021 Japan Language & Culture Trip! This is a trip open to students (sorry parents! maybe next trip!) who will have completed at least two years of Japanese by Summer 2021 and who are committed to continuing Japanese next year. Learning Japanese in Japan--what could be cooler? Due to the COVID-19 closures and cancellations, the trip has bee rescheduled for 2021, meaning YOU still have a chance to join us!

- Note: You do NOT need the passport by Oct 15. Please provide a copy by February. Passport applications can take 1-2 months to process, so get started soon!
- About applying for a passport: Check out the [State Department] website. You will need the application, proof of citizenship, proof of ID, passport processing fee, and two 2-inch pictures. You can schedule an appointment to submit the application to the Post Office on Postmark Drive [here]. They can also take the pictures for $15.
- American Association of Teachers of Japanese has a great collection of study abroad opportunities on their website, including scholarship locations.
- Youth for Understanding: Sensei went on exchange to Japan for a summer with Youth for Understanding waaaay back in 2002. Or was it 2001? Almost 20 years ago! Back then, she was able to get a scholarship for it. Who knows what they're up to now?
- Rotary Club: Sensei had a classmate who went to Japan through a rotary exchange. Again, almost 20 years ago.
- Concordia Language Villages: Sensei attended a workshop about Concordia Language Villages in 2017. It's like going to a Japanese summer camp in America, but cooler. Check out their [main site] [Japanese Village Mori no Ike] [Flyer].
